That is the short version, and it has been true since 1991. What follows is the long version: what this website touches, who sees a request on its way to us, what happens when you pay, where your count data actually sits, and how to make us delete all of it.
Last checked and updated 22 September 2026. Every claim below was measured on that date, not assumed.
This website sets no cookies. Not one, not even a “necessary” one. Nothing counts your visit. Nothing is fetched from another company. There is no banner to dismiss because there is nothing to consent to.
You can confirm every word of that in about ten seconds with your browser’s developer tools — open the Network and Application tabs and reload. That is the only reason it is worth saying: a promise you can check in ten seconds is worth more than a page of assurances you cannot.
No analytics of any kind. No Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no chat widget, no heatmaps, no session recording, and no cookieless counter either.
We do not know how many people read this page. That is a real cost to us and we have decided to pay it.
One stylesheet and the fonts, all served from this domain. No fonts from Google, no scripts from a CDN, no embedded maps, no video.
This was not true until 22 September 2026. Until that morning the site fetched three font families from fonts.googleapis.com, which meant your IP address and browser reached Google on every page load. They are now served from here. We mention it because a privacy page that quietly starts being true is not one you should trust.
The light and dark switch remembers which you chose, in your own browser’s local storage, under the name sto-us-theme.
It never leaves your machine, we never see it, and clearing your browser data removes it with nothing breaking.
This site links to Zebra, to our Australian site, and to the sign-in page for the portal. A link does nothing until you press it. Nothing on those companies’ servers is contacted while you are reading.
Two parties see that you asked for a page, and neither of them is optional in the way the items above are.
Which means Cloudflare’s servers handle every request and keep the usual web server records: the IP address that asked, which page, when, and what browser. That is how a website works — a server cannot send you a page without being told where to send it.
Cloudflare does not get a name, an email address, or anything you typed, because there is nothing on this site to type into.
The site carries Cloudflare’s Report-To and NEL headers, which ask your browser to report failed network requests to a.nel.cloudflare.com — a connection that dropped, a certificate that would not validate.
Successful page loads are not reported: the setting is success_fraction: 0.0, and you can read that in the response headers yourself. We did not add this and cannot remove it without leaving Cloudflare, so it is listed rather than glossed over.
Your internet provider, and your employer if you are on a work connection, can see that you visited this site. Nothing we do changes that, and no website can honestly tell you otherwise.
There is no contact form on this site, no database behind one, and nothing that stores what you were about to say if you change your mind. The contact links open your own email program, addressed to [email protected].
What happens to that email is ordinary and worth stating plainly: it sits in a mailbox, it is read by the person who built this software, and it is replied to. It is not added to a marketing list, because there is no marketing list. If you ask us to delete the correspondence, we delete it.
We never see your card number. Payments are taken by Stripe, on Stripe’s own pages, and the card details go from your browser to Stripe without passing through anything of ours. That is not a courtesy — it is the only responsible way for a small company to take a card, and it is why the checkout page is on a stripe.com address.
What we do receive from Stripe, and keep, is what a business needs to issue a license and an invoice:
Stripe is the processor and has its own privacy terms, which cover the fraud checks any card payment goes through. Payments are settled to an Australian bank account, so a US card payment is an international transaction — your bank may show it as such.
Everything above is about this website. Stocktakes Online itself — the portal at app.stocktakesonline.com and the scanner app — holds a different kind of data entirely: your part numbers, your bin locations, your counts, and the names of the people who did the counting.
Since 20 September 2026 the American portal runs on its own server and its own database in New York. It is a separate system from the Australian one, not a second address for the same data. A company exists in one region or the other, never both.
That was done for speed — the scanner stores nothing, so every lookup is a round trip and a Pacific crossing is felt on each one — but the consequence is the one that matters here: an American customer’s count data does not leave the United States.
Every report exports to CSV from inside the portal, at any time, without asking us. That is a feature, not a concession: your count belongs to you and to your accountant, and software that makes it hard to leave is software that has stopped competing on merit.
We do not mine it, aggregate it, benchmark it against other customers, or sell it in any form. We look at a customer’s data when that customer asks us to look at it, to help with a problem, and not otherwise.
Closed counts are kept so that a stocktake can be audited later, which is usually the whole point of having done it. Ask us to delete a company’s data and we delete it, and we will tell you when it is done rather than leaving you to wonder.
Wherever you are, you can ask us what we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask us to correct it, and ask us to delete it. California residents have those rights under the CCPA and also the right not to be discriminated against for using them — which in practice costs us nothing to honor, because we have nothing to lose by deleting a record we were never going to sell.
We do not sell personal information, and we never have. There is no “Do Not Sell My Personal Information” link on this site because there is nothing for it to switch off.
To exercise any of it, email [email protected]. It reaches a person, not a queue. We will answer within a few days, and if a request takes longer than that we will say why rather than go quiet.
This is warehouse software sold to businesses. It is not directed at children, we do not knowingly collect anything from anyone under 16, and if we found that we had we would delete it.
The date at the top is the date it was last checked, not the date it was last edited — those are different things, and only the first one is useful to you. If the site starts doing something new, this page says so on the same day, and the entry about the fonts above is there as proof of how that is meant to work.
