What a count costs

Three businesses, three counts, and what each one pays.

The rate steps down four times: US$69 a scanner, US$62 from five, US$55 from ten, US$48 from twenty — and each rate applies to all of them, not just the ones past the step. Sites add nothing. Operators add nothing. The only number that moves the price is how many scanners are counting at the same time — which is worth understanding before you buy, because it is usually smaller than you think.

One site, two people counting

A single warehouse. Two of the storeman’s team, a day and a half.

2 scanners at US$69US$138 1 site— Operators on the system— TotalUS$138

One scanner is US$69, and so is the floor — the smallest count there is and the first rate are the same number, so there is no step to trip over at the bottom.

Two sites, five people at each

A distribution center and a branch, counted the same week.

10 scanners at US$55US$550 2 sites— Operators on the system— TotalUS$550

Ten is where the rate steps down to US$55, and it applies to all ten. Which is why nine scanners is also US$550 — you should never pay more for fewer. Two counts run at the same time, each with its own bin locations and its own reports, on the one purchase.

Five sites, fifty people

A regional chain counting everything in one week. This is the example worth reading twice.

US$2,400
50 scanners, all counting at once
US$960
the same 50 people, working 20 scanners in shifts

You buy scanners, not people. Fifty names on the system costs nothing, and fifty people can share twenty scanners across a morning and an afternoon. Whether that suits you depends on how fast you need to be finished — but it is less than half the price, and we would rather tell you than have you find out afterward.

Scanners are a pool, shared across your sites. Twenty across two sites is twenty in total, not twenty at each. Put eighteen into Memphis and two are left for Reno — and if Memphis finishes first, release its scanners and they free up for Reno while the count is still running.

Prices are per count. There is no subscription, nothing recurring and nothing to cancel — in the eleven months you are not counting, you are not paying. See the rule and the full table, or read how a count runs.
